The North Peace Community Resource Society is holding their 5 Annual Halloween Haunting Fundraiser, in the form of a haunted house. The event will be taking place at the Society’s building, located across the street from the post office.

The spooky good times will be running from 3 – 6:30 p.m. for kids of all ages, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Admission is by donation.

Another haunted house will be taking place at the Energetic Learning Campus, located inside the Pomeroy Sport Centre, from 3:30 – 5:30, and those looking to attend are asked to enter the facility through the southern entrance. The haunted house caters towards children ages 2 – 10, who must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is by donation.

A alternative type of experience is being offered at Fort St. John’s Christian Life Centre, which is hosting an Under the Sea Carnival. The deep-sea adventure begins at 6 p.m. and wraps up at 8 p.m. The event caters to the whole family, and admission is by donation.

If looking to enjoy a Halloween themed movie, the Lido Theatre has you covered, as the local theatre hosts a Toonie Halloween Evening. The theatre will be showing Casper Meets Wendy, and like the event title says, the movie costs just $2.

As per usual around this time of year, various safety tips are offered to keep trick-or-treaters safe on Halloween night.

B.C. Transit recommends incorporating visibility into one’s costume, making a plan for if you get separated from your group, always using cross walks when crossing the road, and never entering a strangers home or automobile. Drivers are also reminded to be extra cautious as children can often get overexcited on Halloween and forget basic rules of safety.

ICBC also weighs in with some Halloween safety tips, saying costumes should disrupt a child’s sight and hearing as little as possible, and children walking the streets without the accompaniment of an adult should always pre-plan their route.

Most importantly, have fun, collect lots of delicious candy and have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
