Fiddling professionally all across the globe and having recorded 12 albums over his successful career, MacIsaac continues to be labelled as one of the most gifted and memorable artists to emerge from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
MacIsaac, who first picked up a fiddle at age 8, hit the worldwide music scene in 1995, with his debut album “Hi, How Are You Today?”, which saw triple-platinum success in Canada, while its single, “Sleepy Maggie” was a smash hit over the radio waves.
His unique, on-stage style blends his Celtic heritage with various contemporary elements, ranging from punk, electronica, hip-hop and grunge, promising a live experience one won’t soon forget.
Throughout his career, the man known as the Canadian Fiddling Superstar, has had the pleasure of working with some significant names in the music industry, including Paul Simon and Kevin Killen, producer of bands such as U2, Peter Gabriel and Elvis Costello.
He is also no stranger to touring, as MacIssac has been performing his music on the road since the age of 14, and has been consistently touring internationally, playing various music festivals, Carnegie Hall and even the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremonies.
Next on his schedule will be Fort St. John, when MacIsaac and his band hit the stage of the North Peace Cultural Centre Saturday, October 27.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and advance tickets are available from the box office, by phone at 250-785-1992 and online. Adult tickets cost $35, $40 at the door, while advance youth (18 & under) cost $30 and $35 at the door.
