The tournament, being held at both the Pomeroy Sport Centre and North Peace Arena, is for men ages 19 and up, and is open to players of all skill levels.
Teams will be determined based on a draft system, as organizers try to divide teams as fairly as possible to make each team equal in skill level.
Teams are guaranteed at least three games, not including games played in the semis and tournament finals.
Play will be non-contact, and players are recommended to wear full hockey equipment.
Organizers are hoping to have 16 teams by the conclusion of registration, so spots are limited for players and will be determined by a first come, first serve basis.
Proceeds raised through the tournament will be allocated to the $115,000 needed to renovate the elementary school’s playground, and organizers are hoping the tournament can provide $25,000 of those funds.
The cost to register for the hockey tournament is $55 dollars per player, and registration has already begun, with forms being asked to be submitted ASAP.
Application forms can be found at Ernie’s in the Totem Mall or online and more information can also be found on the tournament’s Facebook page.
