In what was a closely contested game, Canada gained some distance on the scoreboard in the second quarter, when the red and white outscored Germany 19-10, concluding the opening half of the game leading 36-28.
Canada proceeded to hold onto the lead throughout the game’s second half, propelling them to their fourth victory in-a-row, and extending their undefeated streak in the tournament.
In addition to another stellar performance from Canada’s Patrick Anderson, who scored 25 points, dished out a game-high 12 assists and pulled down 15 rebounds, also a game-high, Fort St. John’s Bo Hedges had a game to remember as well.
Earning 28:45 minutes of play time, Hedges scored 24 points, grabbed two defensive rebounds, forced two turnovers and drew two fouls.
With the victory, Canada now leads group B in the preliminary round with 8 points, four wins and no losses.
After a win over the Germans, Canada’s focus will now shift Colombia, which will be played Monday, September 3, beginning at 10:45 p.m.
