Both SPCA locations are holding events around the community to help raise funds for the challenge, but according to Rosolynn Kalb, Shelter Manager of the Fort St. John SPCA, “they are kicking our butts.”

Kalb is asking the community to help out by donating whatever they can to the local shelter, with the challenge ending when the SPCA holds its Paws for the Cause event on September 9.

Despite the ongoing friendly competition, the only prize the winner will receive is pride. The real winners are the shelter’s inhabitants, as all the money raised will be put towards the Paws for the Cause fundraiser.

Money raised as part of the Fort St. John SPCA’s Paws for the Cause will also go towards the total tally of money raised in the community challenge.

Donations can be made at the shelter, or through the Paws for the Cause program.
