The event will have teams, consisting of ten participants, attempt to pull a 31,000 pound fire truck a distance of 50 feet in the quickest time. Winners will receive not only bragging rights, but some prizes as well.

Organizers are inviting anyone interested to form a team of ten participants and register.

Teams can consist of anyone from groups of friends, to business colleagues.

Awards will be presented to the team with the fastest time, the best dressed/most spirited team, as well as the team that raises the most amount of money.

Competitors and spectators can fuel up prior to the pull with a pancake breakfast, which is provided by Shell Canada. The cost of the breakfast is by donation.

Registration for the event, taking place at the Pomeroy Sport Centre September 22, will run from 10 a.m. until 10:45, with the pull starting at 11 a.m. and the award presentation to follow.

All team members must be at least 18 years of age, and teams can be mixed gender, or all male/female.

Participation will cost each team $250 or teams can obtain a minimum of $250 in pledges in order to compete.
