The proceeds from each of those, plus money raised through a draw for a Blizzard Bear and the sale of Children’s Network balloons, $7,912.04 was raised.
“We were amazed,” says local owner Linda Patterson. “We’re pretty pumped about it.”
That money goes towards the Children’s Stollery Foundation, which supports the Children’s Hospitals in Vancouver and Edmonton. This is the 10th year the store has participated in Miracle Treat Day. Patterson says it was the busiest day her store has ever had.
“It was unbelievable, but we had enough staff that we were lined up to the door for a good portion of the evening, and five minute waits before they made it to the till, so that wasn’t bad at all.”
