The cause of the ninth is currently under investigation. Although the largest of the fires is 130 hectares, the Centre says there are currently no concerns, and that four are already out.
There are still two notable fires near Fort Nelson, whose smoke drifted down to Fort St. John last week. The Pesh fire has grown to 5,800 hectares, while the Kotchko fire has grown to 1,800. Both are being actively monitored.
The fire danger rating in the region is moderate to high, with the highest concern far north and far south.
