Allegedly a male was intoxicated and driving a red semi truck which struck a power pole behind Mavericks Bar.
The driver then continued on and did circles in the downtown core without stopping for stop signs. The semi was quickly located by the RCMP on 103 avenue. Attempts to stop the vehicle were ignored. The RCMP decided not to chase the vehicle.
The tires on the trailer were not rolling but were in fact being dragged and the truck never exceeded 20km/h.
The RCMP followed the tire tracks and located the vehicle. The driver had fled the scene but was later apprehended.
The driver from Dixonville Alberta, was in court Friday morning and is facing multiple charges including impaired driving, dangerous driving and mischief.
