On Saturday, July 7, the festival held its annual awards ceremony, giving all those involved in the event an opportunity to receive awards for their entered plays.
Despite the chance to win 12 separate awards, the Fort St. John production of Dog Sees God did not hear its named called during the awards ceremony.
However, Director Chalene Scott says that the festival was a great experience for everyone involved in the production.
“We feel fantastic. We put on our best show ever and the group really had a great time. We met a ton of good people and saw some really good theatre.”
Following the festival, it’s right back to business for the local production company, Spectacular Chair Factory, as the group will be putting on a series of 4-5 smaller shows this summer in Fort St. John.
The group is also looking for actors in those shows and are holding open auditions Tuesday, July 10. Auditions will be held at the Fort Motors Building, and begin at 7 p.m.
Anyone looking to participate in the local productions is encouraged to audition, regardless of their performing experience.
