Inspector Egan has taken part in the Tour for the past four years, and has served as Road Captain for the past three. According to their profiles on the Tour de North website, all of the riders have somehow been touched by cancer, and are looking forward to raising money for cancer research.
Two RCMP members from Dawson Creek and one from Fort Nelson will also be taking part.
In total, 25 riders will bicycle from Prince George to Prince Rupert, including 22 RCMP members, a Vanderhoof B.C. Ambulance Service Medic Rider, two community riders and a media rider. The tour kicks off on September 14, 2012, and riders have already begun training.
