In the team’s opening game, the Strikers doubled up on the Lago Lingo, by a score of 2-1, with Shay and Tanner scoring the goals for Fort St. John.
Game two against Beacon Heights produced the exact same results, with Fort St. John emerging victorious by a score of 2-1. Once again Shay popped one for the Strikers, with Eli scoring the other.
Late Sunday, the team hit the pitch in the gold medal game, where a single goal separated the Strikers from gold and silver. Fort St. John unfortunately lost in the tournament finals by a score of 3-2, with Shay once again showing tremendous skill, potting both goals for the Strikers.
The boys don’t have to hang up their cleats just yet, as the team will be competing in the FSJ House League Season Ending Tournament, being held June 23 and 24.
It will be an opportunity for soccer players from all local teams to get one last kick at the game, as all ages compete in the season ending tournament.
