The Liard River is expected to reach peak levels Saturday.  Additional rainfall is possible for the region into the weekend, however there is some uncertainty at this time as to the location and amount of rain that is expected locally. If additional heavy rain is forecast to fall in the region, additional rises in river levels may occur.

Residents are reminded to stay away from fast moving rivers. The slopes can become very slippery during high water incidents. That combined with fast‐moving water creates a safety issue. People are urged to keep careful watch over children and pets as well.

High water flows are expected to continue over at least the next two to three weeks as the snowpack continues to melt.
