Guttau later moved to Vancouver where he worked construction on movie and television sets. He had been considered missing since May 27, and his friends were left looking for answers, and had planned a news conference for today, which has since been cancelled.
A family friend in Fort St. John, who asked to remain anonymous, describes him as fun loving and outgoing. While in town he was part of the rugby club and had a passion for classic bicycles. He was last seen outside a restaurant in False Creek after taking part in a bicycle cruiser ride last Sunday evening.
It is not yet known if his death is being considered suspicious. An investigation is currently underway.
Guttau is survived by his brother Trevor, in Edson, Alberta.
