The work includes paving portions of Hilltop Road, Charlie Lake Road South by the school, Old Hope Road, Rimrock Drive by Jackfish Dundee’s, and 100th Street heading out to the lookout. The $2.3 million contract for this work was awarded to Knelsen Rock Products Ltd.

It’s expected these improvements will reduce long-term operation and maintenance costs for the province.

“Quality roads are key to northern living,” says Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm. “Whether it’s getting your kids to school or working in the trucking industry, smooth, safe roads are imperative to everything we do.”

The work is expected to take place over the summer until September 30, 2012. The upgrades were announced in May as part of the province’s plan for the year.
