At last check there were 42 firefighters on the scene, including 22 from B.C. Forest Services and 20 from Taylor and the surrounding area. There are four planes, and well as one helicopter water bombing. The Prince George Fire Centre says where the water tankers are dropping has 75 per cent of the area contained.

Taylor Fire Chief Alan Stebbing says their first priority is containing the area around the structures and keeping residents safe. It is still unknown what caused the fire.

More crews are en route to the area, and will start work in the morning. It will be up to the fire crews there now whether they will work through the night. Fires often slow down overnight as the winds die down.

So far one firefighter has been sent to hospital with unknown injuries.

We will keep you updated on the situation.
