The game began with Dawson Creek opening the scoring with a try, which were the only points tallied in the first quarter, which wrapped up with Dawson Creek leading 5-0.
However, the Roughnecks responded with a monumental opening to the second quarter, as the team scored their first try of the season, evening the score at 5-5.
Unfortunately, the remainder of the offence belonged to the visiting team, who scored two more tries and an extra kick to wrap up the first half 17-5.
The second half was once again an improvement from the first for North Peace. The team seemed to settle into the game and looked a bit more comfortable. However, despite some hard hits and strong will, the Roughnecks were unable to score again, en route to a 29-5 final in favour of Dawson Creek.
The Roughnecks left the field with their heads held high, proud of their accomplishment as a club. They will next hit the pitch in an away game, when they travel to Macklin to take on Peace Wapiti Academy Thursday, May 17.
