As weather conditions in the Peace have been warm, dry and windy, each of those fires escaped their designated areas. The Fire Centre warns that residents will be held accountable for those incidents, even they have a burn registration number.
Five of the fires started last week are still under patrol, while five are under investigation and two have been called out.
While there are currently no open burning restrictions in the area, as the fire danger rating is low to moderate, the public is urged to be cautious when dealing with fire outdoors. High fire danger ratings are still present in some areas of the region, and there have been 27 wildfires in the are since the beginning of April.
