18 riders hit the road Sunday afternoon for the 60 km event, but it was 2011 champion Pat Ferris who had a great view from behind as he watched both George Gamble and Kevin Shaw sprint to the finish line. Both Shaw and Gamble crossed the finish line at a time of 1:57:13, with Shaw narrowly edging out his competitor.
Pat Ferris finished the event third at 2:02:08.
Bilodeau’s Queen of Spring three-peat came at time of 2:22:05.
The event also featured the 20 km event, with Sarah and Norman Webster completing the race at a time of 1:28:10, while Richard Moody won the 32 km event at 1:16:40.
Next up for the Blizzard Bike Club and its dedicated members will be the second Duathlon of the season. The second of five races in the Duathlon series will take place Tuesday, May 8, starting from Baldonnel School.
