At the top of the list is South Peace Secondary School in Dawson Creek, coming in at 241, dropping from an average of 212 in the past five years. In Fort St. John, North Peace Secondary School dropped to 257, after averaging 243 for the past five years. Fort Nelson Secondary School ranks 261, Tumbler Ridge Secondary School 271 and Chetwynd Secondary School wraps up the bunch at 275.

The rankings are based on academic performance from the 2010 to 2011 school year. The rankings and averages are based on items such as courses that include provincial exams, the school’s graduation rate and differences between female and male students grade 10 English marks. There’s an overall maximum rating of ten, and NPSS’ decline mostly comes from exam marks, which have declined more than two per cent since 2007.
