The Juniors made great strides in week three, showing great improvement in their skills. Players of the Game included Jesse Baker, Azaria Richards, Justin Bovee, Krystina Rea, Connor McDonell and Dawson Phillips.

Two games took place in the Senior Girls division. In game one, Focus defeated Lube-X 40-21. Lube-X’s Player of the Game was Allyson Knight, who worked hard throughout the entire game, contributing with 4 points on the scoreboard. Chelsea Fisher earned the honour for Focus with an excellent display of teamwork and passing. It should also be noted that Pamela Sandberg had herself a 20 point night for Focus.

In the Senior Girl’s Second game, D Bauer defeated Northern Valve 48-33. D Bauer’s Robin Devaleriola scored 30 points in the victory, but it was the hustle of Jade Mah that earned her Player of the Game honours. Miah O’Neil Simpson displayed great team work, chipping in with four points to receive the Player of the Game for Northern Valve.

The Senior Boys division also held two games Wednesday evening, with the first having Sunlife defeat Lube-X 48-28. Sunlife’s Ming Suwannachneh worked hard both offensively and defensively, and chipped in on the scoring with four points to earn Player of the Game. Sunlife showed great teamwork in the victory, as seven different players contributed on the scoreboard throughout the game. Lube-X’s Andrew Stewart was awarded Player of the Game for his team last night, thanks to a 21 point performance and a solid display of rebounding.

In the other Senior Boys game, D Bauer needed extra time to defeat Northern Valve, beating them 60-56 in overtime. Northern Valve’s Tanner Brady and Jason Hanna each scored 14 points, but it was Hanna’s slick ball control which led to his designation as Player of the Game. Miles Savard drained seven free throws en route to a 21 point performance to be selected as D Bauer’s Player of the Game.

It will be an exciting and educational weekend for local basketball players, as this weekend Chris Nicols, the head coach of the Grande Prairie Wolves Men’s Basketball team will be coming to Fort St. John to hold a development camp for the Spring League players.
