This year, the studio is hoping to raise $12,000 from this year’s break-a-thon, which would help the club purchase some much needed new equipment, as well as bring in special guest instructors for the student, such as three-time Jiu Jitsu world champion, Rodrigo Mondurica.
Last year, the club raised close to $12,000 a number that the club would like to duplicate at this year’s event.
Students aged four and up will get the chance to take out their frustration on numerous pieces of lumber throughout the four hour event.
The Break-a-thon will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and will run until the 2,000 boards have been shattered.
The event will be held at Bert Bowes Middle School.
The fun-filled day is open to anyone who would like to drop in and take in the action, and donations of $20 or over will receive a receipt.
