Reid was a crowd pleaser, taking off on the third song of his set to make a full lap of the EnCana Events Centre, stopping to hug fans and take pictures while still singing. Accompanied by a 14-piece band, including a horn section, Reid’s show lasted almost two hours, and included a second stage near the back of the arena.
Juno award winning Carolyn Dawn Johnson opened for Reid, with a short set of slow, soulful songs, and the crowd was treated to a surprise mid-show performance by country duo The Stellas. Pyrotechnics, bright red pants, and lots of young fans on stage helped round out the show, which included several personal stories.
