The tournament finals were held Sunday afternoon, where in a close affair, Rapid Wireline, one of the regular season’s top teams, defeated the Big Chief River Rats by a score of 5-2.
Prior to the tournament's main event was the consolation game between the Spectra Wolves and the Brandl Bandits, another top team in the Rec League.
With regulation concluding with the score tied at 5-5, overtime was needed to determine the consolation winner of the tournament, and it would be the Bandits who scored first in the extra frame, winning 6-5 for the 3 place finish.
The conclusion of the tournament marks the end of this year’s Rec-Hockey League, a sad time of the season for any hockey player.
