According to RCMP, a pickup truck heading northbound decided to pass a gravel truck. Upon passing the gravel truck, the pickup hit an icy patch on the highway, losing control of the vehicle and eventually rolling it off the road into the ditch.
The pickup truck had three occupants, all of whom were wearing their seatbelts. Only one person sustained minor neck injuries, and was taken to the Fort St. John Hospital where they were diagnosed in stable condition. The other two occupants did not sustain any injuries.
The pickup truck did sustain serious damage.
RCMP is warning highway drivers to use extreme caution when driving and to take weather and road conditions into account when making decisions on the road.
