Artistically inclined or not, anyone interested in learning a few new and exciting ice carving tips and techniques is encouraged to come and listen to the information provided by the two extremely qualified instructors.
Leading the workshop will be both Jesse Forrester and Sonja Butts. Forrester, born and raised in the Peace, has been competing professionally in ice carving for three consecutive years and has led the High on Ice team for the past five years. He promises to provide hands on techniques to those interested in attending.
Butts, also born and raised in the Peace, is one of Fort St. Johns most recognizable artists, as well as a professional judge for the High on Ice festival for two consecutive years. She is also the Director of the FSJ Community Arts Council and promises to share carving tips and help inspire artistic creations.
The event will be taking place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Centennial Park.
The deadline to register is Thursday, Feb.9 and the event costs $25 to register. The cost of registration also includes lunch and refreshments.
Waiver forms must be signed prior to using tools at the workshop.
