The tryouts, known as the B.C. Hockey Female U16 Zone Camp for North Central, were held Jan.7 and 8 at the Pomeroy Sport Centre, where the two defencemen earned their spot to play in one of the province’s premier sporting events.

Roughly 40 girls from the all across the Caribou, Prince George and the North East areas attended these tryouts.

The 2012 B.C. Winter games, which showcase the best of B.C.’s amateur athletes in 18 different sports, will be held in Vernon, B.C. from Feb.23-26, 2012, taking place every second year.

The games offer our province’s female athletes the unique experience of competing with and against the best players their age from across the province.
