The tournament will feature three different divisions with more than $20,000 in prizes available to be won. The first draw of the championship takes place Friday at 5 p.m. and the finals will be played on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Representing Fort St. John in the Sun Life Financial Competitive Division is Randy Maxwell, with Jordan Steinke and Tracy Steinke playing out of Dawson Creek.
Two-time returning champion Kurt Balderston will be looking to defend his title once again, and will be doing so in his own back yard, as he is representing the host, Sexsmith Curling Club.
Top prize from this division is $3,000.
In the Ecana Challenge Division, Glen Godberson, Stefan Pavlis and Bob Cooper will each submit teams representing Fort St. John.
This year, a new champion will be crowned in this division, with top spot earning $2,000.
Finally, the championship will also feature a Canwest Group Benefits Junior Division, and Fort St. John’s Sterling Middleton will be the lone competitor representing the Energetic City in this division.
The Junior Division has $2,500 in prizes to be shared among competitors. A new champion will also be crowned in this division.
