“While my offices in Fort St. John and Prince George offer assistance in filling out passport applications on a daily basis, in a riding as large as ours, not everyone has the time or opportunity to make the trip to these offices,” said Zimmer. “That is why I am bringing this important service to Dawson Creek, ensuring more constituents are able to seek help in obtaining or renewing their passports.”

Residents will need to bring the following:

    A copy of both sides of their driver’s license or health card (signed by their guarantor);
    Their original birth certificate or Canadian Citizenship Card;
    Credit card, money order or certified cheque (Adult – $87, Child under 16 – $37, Child under 3 – $22);
    Two identical passport photos that comply with Passport Canada’s specifications; and
    Their guarantor must sign their passport application, the copy of their supporting documents and the back of one of their pictures.

An eligible guarantor must:

    Be a Canadian citizen 18 years of age or older;
    Hold a five-year Canadian passport that is valid or has been expired for no more than one year;
    Have been 16 years of age or older when they applied for their own passport; and
    Have known the applicant personally for at least two years.

This passport clinic will not be issuing passports, but will assist in filling out forms and submitting applications on behalf of residents if requested.
