Wind chill warning for
B.C. North Peace River continued

Wind chill values of minus 35 to minus 40 are forecast today through Tuesday morning.

This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

The Arctic air over Yukon and Northwestern British Columbia has deepened overnight and will make its way into the central interior today. Very low temperatures, combined with moderate northerly winds, will result in extreme wind chill values exceeding warning thresholds of minus 35 in Yoho Park – Kootenay Park and minus 40 in the BC Peace, Prince George, and McGregor through tomorrow. The Arctic air will continue to spread southward tonight and wind chill values exceeding minus 40 are expected to develop overnight over Chilcotin, the Cariboo, 100 Mile, and Yellowhead.

People planning to spend time outdoor should exercise extreme caution as frostbite can occur within minutes.
