The City explains there is little to no snow on the hill currently, and not much is forecasted for the weekend. The snow carving competition was also cancelled earlier this month due to lack of white stuff.
However, the weekend is still chock full with activities. Professional ice carving starts today with the Single Block Competition from 1 – 3 p.m. at Centennial Park, and the Team Competition running from 6 – 10 p.m. The Crystal Cup Hockey Challenge begins on Charlie Lake, with the first teams hitting the ice at 5 p.m.
Back in town, the Mukluk Independent Plumbing Tru Hardware Bonspiel begins at 5 p.m. at the North Peace Arena. The evening is finished with two performances: Dr. Kearney's Annie at the North Peace Cultural Centre at 7 p.m. and a comedy night at the Lido Theatre starting at 8 p.m.
High on Ice continues in Fort St. John until the 15th.
