The radar boards are to be installed in school and playground zones throughout Fort St. John, and will include a small sign attached to each radar, recognizing a specific sponsor.

The City recently received $10,000 in sponsorship from Mr. David Ergang of Koda Transport for a purchase of a radar sign board.

In a letter sent to Fort St. John City Council back in May, David Ergang of Koda Transport said he has been working on a plan that would see more radar signs installed in school zones. The signs would be paid for by local companies in exchange for a sponsorship sign underneath the radar display.

Shell Canada also contacted the City informing staff that they too were interested in sponsoring a radar sign board within Fort St. John.

The proposed 2012 budget for this initiative has been established at $13,524, which will go to the maintenance of these boards.
