Wind warning ends and region sets record temperatures

Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson and Fort St. John all set new record highs on Monday reaching 9.4 in FSJ, 7.5 in Fort Nelson and 11 in Dawson Creek.

Fort St. John has already set a new record temperature for Tuesday Dec. 6, when shortly after midnight, the temperature was 7.4 beating the old record for Dec. 6, set in 1979 of 7.2 degrees.

Now the temperature has dropped across the region and motorists are advised that roads in the Peace are extremely slippery and in some cases snow covered.

The forecast for today calls for temperature to call throughout the day to around minus 6 and the wind gusting up to 50 km/h.  This warming trend isn’t over yet as temperatures could get up to plus 7 on Sunday.
