A search and rescue mission was conducted with the assistance of the local Search and Rescue team.

The search party heard from the wife of one of the snowmobilers this morning, indicating she had received a SPOT message on her computer asking for help with GPS coordinates. SPOT is a satellite messaging and emergency communications system, that helps alert when assistance is needed. Those coordinates helped the search team find the pair, both in good health.

The RCMP is taking this opportunity to advise the public to plan ahead for recreation activities. That includes checking weather and avalanche conditions, and using the SPOT system.
