Dawson Creek RCMP reported today that two dogs that were taken from one property earlier this month were returned to the property without the owners’ knowledge. There were no apparent ill effects to the dogs.
In another case, a dog that had been reported as stolen was located wandering loose in Dawson Creek, and was reunited with the owner by the SPCA.
However, Dawson Creek RCMP reported last week that as many as 20 domestic dogs have been reported stolen in and around Dawson Creek. All the dogs are reportedly medium to large-sized breeds with gentle temperaments. Police have yet to release details on a possible motive for the dog-nappings or if they have any suspects in the case, but an investigation is ongoing.
