Saturday, the Huskies will be looking for their fifth straight win over the Jr. Canucks, with their most recent victory taking place on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Dawson Creek, in for the form of an 8-6 victory.
Saturday’s game against the Jr. Canucks will also be the first time the Fort St. John home crowd will get to watch the newest member of the Huskies, Dylan Houle. Houle was recently acquired from the Castlegar Rebels.
The Huskies, who have not experienced much movement in the NWJHL standings lately, enter the weekend game sitting in fourth place with 22 points. Third place in the standings is currently occupied by the Grande Prairie JDA Kings, who have 36 points.
Despite only playing once over the weekend, the Huskies will be back on the ice Sunday, Dec. 18, when they hold their annual Skate with the Huskies event at the North Peace Arena. From 1-3 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to strap on their skates and play with their favourite players.
The fun-filled event is also free of charge.
