The Dawson Creek RCMP has confirmed the male driver of a pick-up, believed to be in his thirties, died late last night, in a two vehicle crash south of Pouce Coupe.

Shortly after ten o’clock police responded to the crash reports, and their preliminary investigation revealed the pick-up crossed the centre line of Highway Two, near Blockline Road, and collided with a tractor-trailer unit.

The driver and a passenger in the big truck suffered only minor injuries.

At last report there was still a detour in place around the crash site.  Drivebc.ca says the road could be open by 8:30 a.m.

Meantime, about 22 hours earlier, near midnight yesterday, the Peace River RCMP received a report, of a single vehicle crash, on Highway 986, north and east of Peace River.

A 32 year old Sherwood Park, Alberta man, the driver of a picker truck, allegedly stolen from Red Earth Creek, died at the scene, near Range Road 214.

Police have not yet confirmed, but have not ruled out, drugs and/or alcohol, as crash factors.
