Residents are encouraged to drop off packaged toys. The Salvation Army already has plenty of toys for children between the ages of 5 and 12, says Capt. Isobel Lippers with the Fort St. John organization.
However, Lippers says the organization is in desperate need of gifts for both young children under the age of four and teenagers over 12 years-old.
Teenagers can be hard to shop for and she suggests purchasing gift cards in place of toys. Some of the items that can be purchased for teenagers are gift cards for iTunes, local clothing stores, or movie passes. She also says purchasing items like swimming, skating or bowling passes can be a great idea.
All donations will stay in Fort St. John to help local families.
