Thursday’s road game should prove to be a good test for the Senior Flyers, who after three games, are still in search of their first regular season victory.
The Flyers enter the mid-week game after suffering a disappointing 4-3 overtime home loss to the Grande Prairie Athletics on Saturday, Dec.3.
Following Thursday night’s game, the Flyers will welcome their neighbouring rivals, the Dawson Creek Canucks, for a Saturday night showdown at the North Peace Arena.
Saturday’s game will also include the Flyers’ annual Teddy Bear Toss, where fans can purchase a teddy bear, and upon the Flyers’ first goal, litter the ice with their purchased snuggle buddy.
The Flyers are requesting that anyone who purchases a bear to please place it into a plastic bag before throwing it on the ice, not only to prevent damage to the bear, but to also help maintain the quality of the ice surface.
All the proceeds from the annual fundraiser will go to the Salvation Army as part of the Christmas Campaign.
The Flyers currently occupy the last place ranking in the NPHL’s Western Division with a record of 0-2-1-0. However, the men do have some time to improve their ranking, as they have only played three times this season, compared to the other teams in the division, who have played a minimum of five.
Both Thursday and Saturday’s games begin at 8:30 p.m.
