The three suspects charged with the two murders are expected to enter their pleas on Jan. 17.

Brothers Ryan Beaulieu, 26, and Clayton Beaulieu, 22, each face a charge of second degree murder in the death of Wesley Lulu-Gladue, whose body was discovered by police on Nov. 7 inside a large cardboard box that had been placed inside a garbage dumpster outside the Sunridge Apartments building. An autopsy confirmed that Lulu-Galdue had suffered numerous stab wounds that led to his death.

An investigation led police to arrest and charge the older brother on Nov. 7 and the younger brother on Nov. 11. The incident is not believes to be gang-related, and police have not released any further details about the investigation at this time.

Thomas Anthony McDonald is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Earl Dean Jones 30 years ago near Dawson Creek. McDonald allegedly followed Jones and his wife in his vehicle after a reported dispute at a cabaret at the Windsor Hotel in Dawson Creek, and is accused of firing the shots that killed Jones, who was the passenger in a vehicle heading south on the Hart Highway near the intersection with the Heritage Highway.

McDonald was stopped and questioned by Dawson Creek RCMP on the night of the incident, but police did not have enough evidence at that time to arrest him. Shortly after that night, McDonald left from Fort St. John where he had been visiting and retuned to his home in an undisclosed location in the United Kingdom.

In 2009, he returned to Canada, and members of the Provincial Unsolved Homicide Unit were able to gather new evidence and information. On Oct. 14, 2011, police arrested in Surrey, B.C., without incident and charged with second-degree murder.
