All the money from the month-long fundraiser will go towards a digital mammography machine, seven wireless fetal heart monitors, 55 vital machines and seven treatment chairs for the new dialysis centre in the new hospital. The total cost of the equipment is $1.2 million and with the fundraising in November, they have already raised over $800,000 towards that goal.
The Foundation held four major events during the month of November included the “Be an Angel” Gala, letters to past donors, fundraising at all the local financial institutions and the annual Light a Moose fundraiser.
The Light a Moose fundraiser organized by Moose FM, Rhyason Contracting and B.C. Hydro came to an end Thursday and raised $37,402.
The foundation will now work to raise the remaining $400,000 by spring of 2012 so all the equipment will be in the new hospital when it opens in the summer of 2012.
