Compared to the same time last year, the local unemployment rate was significantly higher at 7.6 per cent.
Northeast B.C. still has the lowest unemployment rate in the province with the next closest in Victoria and Chilliwack at 6.1 per cent
As for the rest of the province the unemployment rate dropped to 6.6 per cent from 6.7 in October, despite the fact that B.C. shed almost 11,000 jobs in October.
The jobless rate across the country edged up to 7.3 per cent from 7.1 per cent in September.
