Snow plows working overnight in Fort St. John

As per policy, workers are currently plowing thoroughfares and bus routes, which are the City's top priority. Overnight, after the first and second priority streets are cleared, the plows will move on to 100 Street and 100 Avenue.

Depending on further snowfall, Demers expects to reach residential areas that aren't on bus routes by Saturday morning. However, he says that as of tomorrow morning, residents shouldn't have to drive more than four blocks to reach a plowed street.

Demers warns the streets may not end up as clean as usual, as the large amount of snow means some is spilling off of the blade of gate used when passing through intersections and by driveways. The City is not using snow blowers in their removal this snowfall, as this type of snow is too light and would only become a hazard.
