Logging truck strike over

"We're absolutely happy," says Canfor Public Affairs Director Christine Kennedy now that everyone is back at work and things are running as usual.

Yesterday Canfor said it was offering a 32 cents per tonne hour raise, from $3.48 to $3.80 per tonne hour. Neither sides would confirm what amount was finally decided on, although it's been said it was different than the original offer.

Truck owner and operator Mike Fitzgerald is more apprehensive than happy, saying "it is what it is" and that he'll be waiting to see how it works out. He says the majority of drivers seemed to be alright with the proposal.
