Police arrested and charged Ryan Beaulieu, 26, on Nov. 7 and Clayton Beaulieu, 22, on Nov. 11, with second degree murder. Both men remain in police custody, and Clayton Beaulieu made his first court appearance this morning (Tuesday) and is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 6.
On Nov. 7 at 8 p.m., Dawson Creek RCMP received an anonymous 911 complaint indicating that a possible homicide had taken place at an unknown location. An investigation resulted in police locating an apartment – the Sunridge Apartments on the corner of 15 Street and 109 Avenue, which they entered and found evidence of a serious assault.
In the early morning hours of Nov. 7, after expanding their search to the exterior of the apartment complex, RCMP officers made the horrific discovery of the body of the deceased victim. An autopsy performed on Nov. 10 confirmed that Lulu-Gladue had suffered numerous stab wounds in the assault.
Based on the evidence gathered during the past week, it was determined that Lulu-Gladue had been living in Dawson Creek for several months. Police believe this is not gang related and that there is no further risk to the community.
There is no further information being released at this time. The Dawson Creek RCMP Victim Assistance section are providing support to the victim’s family.
