This Friday, Oct. 28, the Fort St. John Huskies will be back at home, after playing four consecutive games on the road, and will be welcoming rival Dawson Creek Junior Canucks to the Energetic City.
This will be the second meeting between the two clubs, with Fort St. John winning the first game on Oct.15 in Dawson Creek by a score of 9-5.
With regards to the NWJHL standings, the Huskies sit in fifth place with a 3-4 record, while Dawson Creek occupies the sixth spot with a 1-7 record. The huskies currently lead the Junior Canucks by 4 points in the standings.
However, looking upward in the standings, the pups only trail the fourth place Sexsmith Vipers by a single point. The Vipers do not play this weekend, so a win by the Huskies would have them leapfrog the Vipers and overtake fourth place by a single point.
Robbie Sidhu is continuing to show he can produce points, as the forward currently leads the team with 18 points (8 goals, 10 assists) in the seven games played so far. Cody Hildebrand is second in scoring with 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists), with rookie defensemen Dave Marshell being the only other player on the team with points in the double digits. Marshell has 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) but has also only played five games with the team.
Friday’s game will take place at the North Peace Arena and the puck drops at 8 p.m.
