Morrison earns another gold medal in Calgary

After winning a gold medal Thursday in the 1,000 metre event at the Long Track Fall World Cup Trials, being raced at the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Morrison had another gold medal performance Friday, Oct.28, in the competition’s 1,500 event.

Morrison earned his second gold medal in as many days with a time of 1:45.18.

He edged out teammate Lucas Makowsky of Regina by only .82 seconds, who placed second in the race.

The trials will be used to identify the team for the first three World Cup competitions. The first World Cup event for the long track team is Friday, Nov. 18 to Sunday, Nov. 20 in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
