The adult store had its glass door smashed sometime between 9 p.m. last night and 9 a.m. this morning. The thieves took its cash register and a fire extinguisher, which were found by RCMP in the lane behind the store.
Store owner Kim Kidner-Hogg says she only keeps small change in the register, so they probably only got away with $10 or so. They ignored the merchandise, as well as a jar of change saving up for hardwood flooring.
Kidner-Hogg doesn’t believe adults were involved, as the culprits doused the cash register with the fire extinguisher before abandoning them in the alley.
Replacing the door will cost her between three to five hundred dollars, and the cash register appears to be salvageable, with the replacement of a part. Although Kidner-Hogg has security cameras in the store, they were not recording at the time of the incident.
Corporal Joe Morrissey of Fort St. John RCMP says they are currently investigating the break-ins and are unsure at this point if they are related.
