Thankfully no one was home at the time and the family, their pets and livestock are all safe.

Tuesday evening, the Gautron family returned to their older mobile home in Rose Prairie around supper time, only to find that the house had been completely destroyed. The fire was apparently discovered by their neighbours, who helped contain the fire and prevented any damage to the family’s livestock.

Unfortunately, along with the family’s home, they also lost their car and camper.

This event has produced a great deal of concern within the community, with numerous people asking about donations and what they can do to help.

As of Thursday, Sept. 15, an account has been set up ‘In Trust for Garnet and Sabrina Gautron’at the Fort St. John North Peace Savings and Credit Union The account is now open and accepting donations.

As of now, the top priority is to clean up the site of the fire and get the Gautron family into a warm home before winter arrives.
