Saturday's Fall Fair events

Over at the rodeo infield, the Wrangler Canadian Pro Rodeo kicked off again just after 1 p.m. The full afternoon of events included team roping, calf tying, women’s barrel racing, and much more. Between events, Ricky Ticky Wanchuck and his band of rodeo clowns kept the crowd entertained with their crazy antics that included “sawing” an audience member “in half” and blowing up an outhouse.

Elsewhere on the fairgrounds, a number of cattle, sheep and horse shows took place earlier today. The horse ring featured, among other events, light horse classes in the English discipline.

Inside the South Peace 4-H Pavilion and adjacent barns there were displays of photography, paintings, handicrafts, flower arrangements, wine and homemade food, and much more.

This evening will feature the Crazy Cowgirls Trick Riders, the Kids Wild Horse Race, the Western Chuckwagon Association and World Professional Chuckwagon Association races, and the Schilds Kurjata Calf Scramble. Be sure to check out the Waterin’ Hole for some live entertainment by the Deere John Band, and from the winner of the Rising Star Talent Show that wrapped up earlier today, and then stick around for the fireworks at around 10:30.

Be sure to check back with Mile 0 City tomorrow for coverage of “Championship Sunday.”
